Die-Casting Technician
Job Details
About the Role
Join our foundry team as a Die-Casting Technician. You will operate gravity and pressure die-casting machines to produce brass billets and semi-finished door hardware components. This is a hands-on manufacturing role — you will work with molten brass, maintain dies, and ensure each cast meets our dimensional and surface-finish standards. Full safety orientation and supervised casting sessions provided before you work independently.
What You'll Do
- Operate gravity and pressure die-casting machines for brass components
- Prepare and maintain dies — cleaning, lubrication, and alignment checks
- Monitor melt temperature, pour rates, and cooling cycles
- Inspect castings visually and dimensionally, reject non-conforming parts
- Maintain a clean and safe work area around the furnace and casting stations
- Follow all foundry safety protocols — heat-resistant PPE, ventilation checks, spill procedures
What We're Looking For
- ITI / Diploma in Metallurgy, Mechanical, or Foundry Technology
- 1–4 years experience in brass or aluminium die-casting
- Familiarity with die maintenance and basic troubleshooting
- Physically fit for standing work near high-temperature equipment
- Disciplined approach to safety — non-negotiable in a foundry environment
What You'll Get
- Complete foundry PPE — heat-resistant apron, face shield, high-temp gloves, safety boots
- Supervised casting sessions with an experienced technician during your first 4 weeks
- Monthly safety audits specific to foundry operations
- PF + ESI + annual bonus + overtime at standard rates
- Clear path from technician to shift lead — our current foundry supervisor started as a casting operator
